Natalia M. Salas is a Partner at Ferraro Law, where she leads high-stakes litigation involving multi-district litigation (MDL), mass torts, complex commercial disputes, and class actions. Since joining the firm in 2020, Ms. Salas has been instrumental in expanding Ferraro Law’s national litigation portfolio, spearheading cases in emerging and impactful areas of the law.
Ms. Salas brings rare depth to her MDL practice, shaped by her prior service as the dedicated MDL law clerk to the Honorable James Lawrence King of the U.S. District Court for the Southern District of Florida. There, she oversaw In re Checking Account Overdraft Litigation, a landmark consumer class action that resulted in over $1 billion in settlements.
She has since been appointed to leadership roles in several high-profile federal MDLs, including:
- Lead Counsel in In re January 2021 Short Squeeze Trading Litigation, involving claims against Robinhood and other trading platforms;
- Plaintiffs’ Executive Committee in the Insulin Pricing Litigation MDL, representing self-funded payers in litigation against PBMs and drug manufacturers for insulin price manipulation;
- Plaintiffs’ Discovery Subcommittee Member in the AFFF MDL, where she advocates for U.S. public water systems in PFAS contamination litigation, which has secured over $13 billion in settlements to date.
Prior to joining Ferraro Law, Ms. Salas served as Assistant General Counsel at the University of Miami, managing major litigation and counseling on healthcare compliance, privacy, intellectual property, and technology matters. She was selected for the University’s Talent and Organizational Development Program in recognition of her leadership.
Earlier in her career, she practiced for six years at a top Am Law 50 firm and four years at a boutique litigation firm founded by the former U.S. Attorney for the Southern District of Florida. Her experience spans trial and appellate advocacy, international investigations, and complex cross-border litigation, with judgments exceeding $50 million.
Ms. Salas earned her J.D., magna cum laude, from the University of Miami School of Law, where she was a Dean’s Merit Scholar, member of the University of Miami Law Review and Moot Court Board, and recipient of Book Awards in Litigation Skills and Legal Research & Writing. She holds a B.A., magna cum laude, from Duke University in Public Policy and Spanish, along with a Certificate in Policy Journalism and Media Studies.
Fluent in Spanish and conversational in Italian, Ms. Salas is known for her strategic judgment, deep client commitment, and leadership in the legal community. She serves on the Executive Council of the Trial Lawyers Section of The Florida Bar and dedicates her pro bono practice to victims of human trafficking.
