Brhea D’Mello
Practice Areas
Brhea D’Mello is an associate attorney at Ferraro Law whose path to the courtroom began in engineering and cybersecurity. Her practice focuses on complex civil litigation and mass torts, including the nationwide Social Media Adolescent Addiction/Personal Injury multidistrict litigation. As an engineer, attorney, and registered U.S. patent agent, Ms. D’Mello brings a technical and interdisciplinary perspective to complex legal matters involving emerging technologies.
Ms. D’Mello studied Electrical Engineering and Computer Engineering at Johns Hopkins University before beginning her career as a cybersecurity engineer on Cisco Systems’ North American Firewall Team. There, she worked on complex network security matters for major enterprise clients, gaining experience analyzing and solving sophisticated technical problems. Her interest in the intersection of technology, innovation, and law ultimately led her to the University of Miami School of Law, where she earned her J.D. and expanded her work into intellectual property, technology transactions, data privacy, and artificial intelligence.
Artificial intelligence and negotiation became a particular focus of Ms. D’Mello’s work during law school. She developed an AI negotiation agent that won First Place Overall in the MIT/Harvard AI Negotiation Bot Competition and went on to earn additional first-place honors in artificial intelligence, legal technology, and contract-focused competitions. Her work in this area has also led to opportunities as a guest speaker at universities and conferences on artificial intelligence, technology, negotiation, and their evolving role in the legal profession.
Ms. D’Mello now applies her multidisciplinary background to her litigation practice at Ferraro Law, combining her technical training with legal advocacy in complex matters. She remains actively involved in the legal community and currently serves as South Florida Vice President of the South Asian Bar Association of Florida.
